My sisters iPod nano (1st gen) recently somehow ended up getting stuck on hold even when the hold button was in the not hold postion. The iPod is out of warrantly by about a week which is really aggravating, so i decided to have a go at fixing it myself.

I opened it up and tried to force the hold button accross further but doing this the hold button snapped.

Does anybody know of a method of disabling the function of the hold button?

have you tried hard resetting the iPod?

Yes i tried this before, but was pretty sure it wouldn't work, as the problem is with the hold button not the software.

As there is no hold button the only real solution is to somehow disable that, so this is what i was wondering to be able to find.
