Powerbook G4 repair problems

I own a 1.67GHz Powerbook G4 which will be 2 years old next month. This time last year I was having the lower memory slot problems so I got the logicboard replaced under warranty. I didn't purchase Applecare. The same memory slot problem occurred again a few months ago and again I got it repaired under the Memory Slot Repair Program. No problem there. Since the repair I have been getting kernel panics every few days and the fans seem a lot louder than before the repair. I did the hardware test which returned no problems. After about 4 kernel panics in 2 weeks I decided to take it back to the repair centre who said they would take a look at it and determine whether the fault was due to the repair they had just done on it. Since then they have phoned me and told me they couldn't find a fault and that they were charging me a 20pounds diagnosis fee. I strongly feel that there is a problem with the laptop because I hadn't even seen the kernel panic screen before the second repair.

Could anyone give me any advice on what to do now, it would be very much appreciated.

See if you can replicate the problem in store or on video, to show then firsthand what you are telling them.
What programs/activities are being done during the kernel panics? Maybe it is software?
What are your panic logs saying?

I don't know if I could replicate it in front of them, it only happened every few days. First 2 times I was just browsing the web using Camino, so I switched to Safari and it happened again. I can't remember what happened the last time. 2 of the crashes were on full screen youtube, in both browsers.

All of the times I was doing very low processor power tasks, browsing web but I noticed just before it crashed each time the processor usage was constant 100% and the fans were revving very loud.

Hey guys. Long time listener, first time caller.

I have had similar problems to Eagon so I'd be interested in any advice. Not re the specific hardware issue, just the general repair centre part.

anyone have any ideas?
