Is there a way to read mail in 3-columns-layout with Apple's Mail?

Hello, new Mac User here

I was wondering if there is a way to change the reading panel's structure in Apple's Mail, to a three vertical columns. Well, it seemed that there is no way to do that (I'm still on Tiger now).. but since I'm a newbie, who knows if I missed something

If there is indeed no way to change that, is there a 3rd party mail app that have the mentioned feature?

I just looked and couldn't find anything to change that. I've grown to like this view best though. At work I've set up Outlook to have the same layout. Of course most emails I get tend to be short so I'd rather have a short and wide preview rather than tall and skinny.
