Hey everyone. I'm buying an xbox 360 tomorrow and I just had a thought. I have an old computer monitor. Its a Sony SDM S51.

It has a VGA input. If I buy an xbox 360 and this cable

will I be able to select 1024x768 as the resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio? Basically, I want it higher res then 480i. Will this work? Thanks very much for any help and sorry if I being noobish. =]

You will get higher than 480i but you will be stuck at 480p....the tv highest res is 1024X768.
The cable should be fine to output at that res.

Bless

I have that VGA adapter.. it works fine with my 360.

But remember, there's no sound. 🙁

Well I got it today and it works PERFECTLY! It let me select the native resolution of the monitor (1024x768) so I now have HD gaming. I have just been playing Assasins Creed and Orange Box. 😀 Now to set up Xbox Live! Its awesome. Thanks for the help guys.
