Sup everyone. I bought this Macbook almost exactly a year ago, and now I believe my hard drive is failing. I haven't heard or seen any physical symptoms, but after at least 5 times doing the disk repair, and over 20 times doing "FSCK -FY", it says that it has repaired it, but it keeps coming back.

Is my hard drive dying?

SHould I get AppleCare?
EDIT: Nevermind, applecare is kind of too expensive.

Sure sounds like your HDD is getting ready to completely fail. Time to make a backup to an external drive.

Is your MacBook still under the one year warranty? If it is, take it in to Apple and let them replace the drive. As for Apple Care being too expensive, what if you need to replace a logic board or the display after your warranty expires?

Regards.

I kind of expected that answer.

Well, my dad said no (as predicted), and as usual. he said I have to take care of my computer, and it is [always] my fault if it screws up.

Well, At least I can replace my 120gb hard drive with a 500gb!

EDIT: Ill back up everything except the system!
