Hello i would like to know how do you find out what macbook you have like late 08 etc? as i got mine from a reseller and was told its a late 08 uni-body but someone said its not how do i find out?

http://www.apple.com/macbook - there is the Unibody model, the one with the black bezel around the display. The white model is the older one made of plastics.

Also a good link: http://mactracker.dreamhosters.com/iphone/#_home

You can also look at your MB version through System Profiler (via Spotlight or :apple: > About this Mac > More Info).

There is a Model Identifier like "MacBook Pro 5.1" for example.

PS: You state in your signature, that you have an Aluminum Macbook, that is the Unibody model. Unibody refers to the manufacturing process: http://www.apple.com/macbook/design.html . There is a video explaining the new building process.

That someone might be pulling your arm.

Okay it shows i have the macbook5,1 is that the least uni-body macbook?

There hasn't been a hardware refresh to the aluminum MacBook line since their debut on October 14, 2008. To my knowledge, the only change has been the addition of iLife '09 software when it came out.

The newest MacBook is the white polycarbonate 2.0GHz with the nVidia graphics which was released January 21, 2009. -GDF
