Powerbook G4 12" will not turn on unless plugged in

I recently purchased a Powerbook G4 1.5Gz 12" but it will not turn on unless it is plugged in. once turned on, i can unplug it and it runs on its battery just fine though?? it also can't seem to remember the date and my internet connection each time i turn it on. thanks in advance for any tips and comments

You need to reset the PMU, as it sounds like it has lost the power management settings.
