What's the biggest hard drive I can put in my G4 iMac (Snowball)

I have a 1.25GHz G4 and I'm going to to upgrade to Tiger and install the max RAM. I just thought that I might want to replace the 80g HD that's in there.

What is the biggest drive available for that model? From what little I can find on the internet, it sounds like it's a tricky job.

yup, its pretty damn tricky

largest drive you can get is 750 gigs -- if you can find one...

probably better luck finding 320, 400 or 500 gigs

i think 750gb is the biggest internal you can get as its a ide drive and they are not cheap really
and yes its a bit tricky but not impossible, but i would not bother
just leave the 80gb inside if its a 7200 rpm drive and buy a 1 tb drive (i prefere western digital)

i would even suggest to use a firewire external drive instead of a usb ,as its faster , but dont use it if you have a pc at home and want to hook it up there as you will rarely find a firewire port on a pc ,while you find one on all mac`s
