Need help getting iMac to see my IBM Model M keyboard

I want to use my IBM model M keyboard with my iMac (running 10.5.8 Leopard). I have the PS/2 to USB adapter but a quick hookup reveals that the Mac can't find the keyboard. Do I need to install drivers? If so, where can I get these from?
