Planning on turning my iPhone 3G into a glorified iPod Touch after receiving the iPhone 4. The 3G is currently jailbroken. Was wondering if there was a way to disable the phone and mail apps to free up precious memory/RAM.
Thanks,
E

Mail can be turned off by setting fetch to manual in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar then opening Mail.app, holding down the power button (until slide to turn off appears) then holding the home button (this will terminate the app). You'll find that it won't run on startup when fetch is set to manual. It will however run in the background if you launch the app again and you will have to terminate it using the above method.
