Hi!

Currently I have an ATV-flashed ATV and like it:
- automatic syncing of music, movies and photos; don't have to select/copy manually
- Perfectly integrated
- Easy to use

However, I there are some things to improve:
- No 1080p/HDMI support
- A bit slow (a lot of content)
- No Time Capsule support
- Internet usage not easy (Airmouse etc unstable)
- Wireless Keyboard support not great

So; I am thinking about upgrading to the new Mini but I fear the loss of convenience/integration.

Any tips?

Regards, Vincent

It should work just fine. I use our wireless network at home to transfer and access files between my MBP and my mom's iMac all the time. What you could do is put all your media on the mini, and then connect to your mini from your iMac if you wanted to access something from the mini. File sharing is very easy to do. You could even enable screen sharing to control the mini from the iMac if you needed to.

Thanks, but how about automatic syncing between Mini and iMac

Hi,

Can the Mini pull and update the data automatically from the iMac?

you don't need to pull or update data.

You could use simple file sharing, and as long as the computer with the files is on, it would play like it was local.

iTunes also offers a couple of sharing options.
regular sharing which will just let you play stuff back.

Home sharing will let you import stuff to the local library,
it will automatically import files, but it only does that with purchases from the iTunes store.
