Connecting a Late 2008 Unibody MBP to Vizio LCD TV

So, I currently have a unibody Macbook Pro (2.4ghz, 4gigs ram, 9600gt, 15 inch) and I'd like to connect it to my TV ( http://www.vizio.com/va26lhdtv10t.html ).

I know I have to get a MiniDisplayPort adapter of some kind, but what kind of cords, exactly, do I need to make this work?

I also heard that there are sometimes issues with sound transferring over to the built in TV speakers when using HDMI + MiniDisplay Port adaptors -- is this something I should be worried about?
