Change iMac for Macbook Pro? (Due to problems)

Hi.

Well, it is my very first Mac.

I really like the OS, the design...everything.

But my iMac has some of its typical problems, like a bit yellow tint, or some dead pixels.

I don't want a bad $1500 machine so, should I change it for a Macbook Pro 15" base model? It will be my main machine : photo editing, gaming...

I don't have a Apple Store here, so no way.

About portability, I don't need it, I just like it.

I forgot to mention that the chosen one will have to least for some years.
