i have a power mac g4 m5183 that i inherited, as well as a m7649 monitor. when connected, the mac turns on but the monitor does not, I also don't see a button to turn on the mac monitor. how do i turn on the monitor.???:apple:

I never used that display, thus I have no personal experience.

Maybe the area pointed out in my first reply is touch sensitive, I haven't read the complete manual.

Maybe change your thread title to "How to turn on 17" Apple Cinema Display (Flat Panel)?", as "m7649" is non-descript.

Ironically I read the same information, but on another site, but as there were no identifying images, only a closeup, I though they were talking about the CRT version, thus I omitted it from memory.
