If SHSH's worked like that why would we ever need to save them ourselves? There'd be one master SHSH we could all download at any time to downgrade.

I get you can't use an SHSH to downgrade another iPhone 4, but if I have an SHSH from one iPhone 4 with 4.1 and 01.59.00 unlocked with baseband preserved via tinyumbrella can I use that 4.1 SHSH on another iPhone 4 I have that is 4.0.2 01.59.00?
I'm having issues getting the 4.1 phone backup to restore on the 4.0.2 phone. Didn't know if this would fix it. I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area.

No. You cannot use a saved SHSH from one phone on another, period. They're handset-specific, as well as firmware version-specific.

Darn. Thanks! I wasn't sure if the "Manual ECID" feature on Tinyumbrella allowed me to manually make the SHSH fit the different phone. I'm not knowledgeable on this stuff, sorry. ;)
