This is fantastic news. In a few weeks I should be able to get cheap 30" ACDs on eBay from people who have "upgraded"

is that the angle of the photo that was taken, or am i seeing some yellow tinge on the bigger screen?

I see what you're seeing too... that's not good if it's a defect with the monitor. I've been eyeing that display for months now... of course, I can't use it with my current iMac and I can't afford a new one right now either. Sigh.

No, the sky is not falling.

You guys have never heard of screen calibration and colorimeters?

I got mine today to, Cancelled my online order because my local Apple Store had two in stock

How long is the cable? Do you need an extender to put the computer under the desk?

I love how people who seem to consider themselves "color experts" of some sort are going on and on about the screen quality based on a jpeg snapshot...

He said he preferred his NEC, I said "I preferred my EIZO", just my preference. I did not disparage the Apple or the NEC displays in anyway. Are we suppose to be impressed with your name/model dropping? Have a look in the mirror before you call anybody an @ss.

To be fair, that is kind of a low blow considering they cost 4X as much. This is like me saying I prefer my Canon 5D Mark II, when others are discussing a point and shoot camera. To be frank, it makes you sound like an ass.

You must be a republican or far extreme right: you think you're fair while insulting others.

Don't worry mate... This fellow is not only pompous, but he is a republican too. That should explain his ignorant hatefull attitude toward others.

Own a 17" MBP i7 SSD. Possible to run two of these bad boys on it? Basically I have a $3K gift card to Apple I'm dying to blow.

I absolutely hate this glossy screen crap. It's absurd.

I feel your pain bro.
I LOVE my matte 30" ACD. Not really sure why Apple discontinued it. Sad, sad, sad. :(
I would get another if the price wasn't so absurd expensive. Heck, I would get 2 and have three 30" monitors. Nirvana! :D

sorry for the crappy pics, and not setting everything up. But here it is. I'm really liking it for movies, and youtube, etc. It's a little bright & hard on the eyes when it comes to reading. I think I just need to get used to it.

Pot, meet kettle. You obviously have serious hate problems to bring up one's political beliefs when they are not warranted.

On a relevant note, I can't wait to get one of these displays! They look really sleek!

I hope the 27s don't have this ridiculous flicker problem the 24s have. It drives me nuts. :(

Let the kids have the glossy, color inaccurate and "impossible" to calibrate mirror.
For the rest of us, Nec.

How would adding treated glass (anti-glare) make the colors accurate? And don't just answer, "It just does".

And how can clear glass (not treated, cuurent model) cause the colors to be off?

Back in the day, pros would control the ambient lighting, and add a hood to the monitor. Now, all I hear is the lazy cry of "Give me non-glare".

I'm with you on that one. Apple just replaced the Power Supply, the Panel, basically 70% of the display a few days of my 24 inch, and it still flickers.
