HI Experts

Need step by step instruction to connect to internet using ipod touch via the internet connection (USB 3G Modem) of Macbook pro.

Macbook Pro (10.6.3)
USB 3G modem (HUAWEI E1550) data card
iPod Touch (3rd Generation)

Macbook pro can go to internet without any issues using USB 3G Modem data card.

However, wanted to put ipod touch to internet using USB 3G modem connected to Macbook Pro.

Kindly let me know step by step instruction as to how can I share the internet connection between macbook pro and ipod touch at the same time.

PS. If there is any solution already posted on this forum or somewhere else, kindly put the same over here.

Thanks

Thanks for giving reply on this.

Tethering works fine. I have tried with Nokia 5800 wired to macbook pro and ipod touch using tethering on Nokia 5800 and it was working perfectly fine.

Can you suggest tethering in the scenario mentioned below...

Macbook Pro (10.6.3)
USB 3G modem (HUAWEI E1550) data card
iPod Touch (3rd Generation)

Thanks

Connect the USB Modem to your MacBook Pro

Confirm your MBP is online.

Go to System Preferences

Sharing

Internet Sharing (must be unchecked to make changes)

Share your connection from: Your USB Modem

To computers using: Airport

Airport Options:

Check the box - Enable encryption (using WEP)

Choose and input a password; confirm it

Hit OK

Check the Internet Sharing box

Select Start

On your iPod, connect to your MBP. Usually "John Doe's MacBook Pro" and input the password you chose.

Confirm that your iPod Touch is now online.
