Basically I've got some pictures I'd like to keep ;), but I don't want other people to be able to see them if they are playing on my phone (like family, co-workers)?????

PhotoAlbums+ ($2.99) in Cydia let's you password protect and add new folders.

Unless his "private" photos are sitting in Camera Roll, he's SOL. There's currently no way to get existing pictures into a PhotoAlbums+ folder from anywhere other than the Camera Roll.

I wish I'd known about this before buying as it's a deal-breaker for me. The good news is that the dev is looking into a workaround.

OP - who cares? If you want to carry porn on your phone, just put it in a separate album, turn on parental control to the pictures app, or just own it. It's your phone, who cares, unless you're somehow embarrassed about it. I personally don't, but I wouldn't be ashamed of it if I chose to.

You don't need to be jailbroken for this. Install any number of the Private photo apps from the app store. I use "Private Pics Free" and it works great

What does it matter to you what I want to do with my phone?

To everyone else, thanks for the suggestions I'll look into the app's suggested.

There's a built in method in iOS 9 too this. Just press share and then choose hide from the bottom menu. Of course they aren't fully hidden, so this is only for use to clean up your camera roll.
