I have a usa ipod , charged in europe (240v).It only works when on the charger. I replaced the battery but that did not make any difference.Could I have blown something else but the battery??

I don't know if Apple makes specific iPods for specific countries but you could of blown something else. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.

They don't. The only thing that is different about any iPods between countries is that those sold in the EU have a lower volume cap than in other places. If it's a battery problem then it's nothing to do with it being 'blown' by being charged in a different country.
