Hi

Got my iPhone back from the repairers three days ago, with a new charging-port-area thing. It works great now, except that it now hovers between "No Service" and only 2 bars of reception. I have seen it at 3 bars maybe two times in the past 3 days.

It has the newest iOS on it.

Compared to another 3GS in the same locations, at the same times:
When mine has 1 bar, the other iPhone has 5.
When mine has 2 bars, the other iPhone has 5.
When mine has 'No Service', the other iPhone has 3 bars.
etc

Any ideas? Is this likely to be a software thing or a hardware thing?
I've only noticed it since the repair.
I've tried re-starting and pulling the SIM in and out.

And it doesn't seem to be a false reading either, it's definitely dropping calls more than it should (almost every call).

Thanks in advance
Xander

Since you just got it back from being repaired, I would guess hardware.

Thanks - I'd thought it was likely that.

Are reception issues with the 3GS common?
Or hard to fix?

Thanks!

I had a faulty radio in my first 3gs. it would always only have 1-2 bars and would drop to no service alot. I finally brought it in and got it replaced.

Hi CrAkD,
Could I confirm, did they replace the radio, or the entire phone?
Thanks!
