I'd say it's a tad premature to answer that as no iPad 2 specs have been released...

And even when the ipad2 is out, you're asking a question that's not very different from "whats the best ice cream?" The answer depends entirely on your tastes and other factors.

My opinion is the best charging solution is the power brick that comes with the ipad. Docks are fine if you use your ipad naked or want to futz around removing it from its case every time you need to charge it.

Best Docking Stations

Based on my 20 years experience in the sound electronic industry I can tell you that the 2 best charging docking stations available today are: Sony RDP-XF100IP and Philips Fidelio DS3000.

They little expensive but sound quality is amazing and charging time is very short relative to the other models
You can find the full reviews here:

Sony RDP-XF100IP:

I know you have 20 years in the electronics industry....but can you help me to see how the two docks you recommended work with an ipad?

The Sony says right on the page -
compatible with:
iPod (4G), iPod nano (5G), iPod mini, iPod with video (5G), iPod nano (3G), iPod nano, iPod touch, iPod nano (4G), iPod classic, iPod, iPod touch (2G), iPod nano (aluminum) (2G), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone

I don't see iPad listed.

The Philips says right on the page
compatible with: all iPod products with a 30-pin connector (except iPod shuffle)–this includes the newest iPod nano and touch models; also compatible with iPhone, iPhone 3G and 3GS, and iPhone 4

I don't see iPad listed here either.

so help meh...#justaskin

Oh wait I get it are you a vendor?
