do you think it would be possible to run more MULTIPLE external monitor off a daisy chain thunderbolt port? if so that would be awesome.

Sorry i edited my original post.. kind of confusing :p

i hope it can.. it would be nice to use my 3x23" IPS monitors on a macbook pro!

It depends on what you're doing with those monitors. Light Peak has only 10 Gb/s of bandwidth, while DisplayPort 1.2 has more than double that, at 21 Gb/s, to support 2,560 × 1,600 × 30 bit @120 Hz. What do you think is going to happen, when you plug 3 of those devices, which want 63 Gb/s of bandwidth, into a port that only delivers 10 Gb/s? Crap performance, that's what.

Even if you're 3 monitors are each running at 1080p resolution, they'll require 21 Gb/s. And your LP port is only 10 Gb/s.

So I guess the answer is "it depends". But don't expect good performance with three very high resolution displays.
