Hey guys, got an UNBOXING VIDEO for ya
I started a new thread, didn't know if that was the right thing to do so I posted in here as well.

Let me know what you guys think.
I'll be posting up a RAW video from the iPad tomorrow to show how the camera plays out in different lights and frame rate etc

Anyone have any charging issues? Connected to my core I5 lenovo work laptop it wont charge

The original iPad can't be charged from most PC's and laptops due to USB ports not supplying enough power. The iPad2 is no different.

For those that have the ipad 2 and a smart cover, can you please fold the cover around the back of the ipad just like you would if holding a magazine. Im interested in knowing whether the magnets will disconnect when folded this way, as i would image this will be the way its held whilst reading a book

Cheers

Yes, you can fold it around the back and it still stays attached. It muffles the speaker with it all the way folded over so if you want to listen to music while reading you'll have to fold it over in half on top of itself to keep the speaker (and camera) exposed. The magnets have a hinge that pretty much let you fold it however you want without it coming unattached. Though, I can't see myself sticking with this cover. I just feel like it doesn't offer enough protection for the whole device. And I feel like the way it attaches will scratch it up over time. And one time earlier it already attached too high so it was creeping up over the top of the bezel and could've easily done some serious scratching or maybe even a crack if it had a little more force.

I have the original iPad also and I have to agree with the poster who said the screen looks better on the iPad 2. It looks crisper and a little sharper somehow. I read it's the same screen but maybe it's a newer model of the same type of screen?

I bought a black 64gb wifi but looking at some the pictures of the white ones i'm kinda having some second thoughts now. But I still think it would be weird watching a movie with th white border.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Fantastic pics of the White iPad, my first gen feels so ugly now! Ah well, might trade it in or something and upgrade later this year!

Not that there's much I need except the aesthetics of the new iPad.. :p

I'm waiting for the upgraded display (I had two iPad 1s)

but just posted to say congrats on the new purchase. Its always fun to get a new gadget :D

I was at BB playing with the display, very happy i ordered white, screen somehow looks better than the original and its soooo thin

The screen is MUCH brighter and the contrast levels are much higher on the 2 IMO. It almost hurts my eyes to look at it.

Are you all mad? The white iPad looks pretty bad…I don't want to see a bezel!

No kidding. :p

Test drove the black and white in the store and didn't like how the white looked or how the hue of it picked up the color of the lights nearby making it look yellowish.

Oh, and they ran out of all the iPad 2's except for the Verizon models (AT&T's were sold out before even the WiFi models at my location) so I didn't get my WiFi. :(

It's definitely much thinner and you can actually feel it's a little bit lighter...hmmm I'm still restoring

My first impressions are very very positive..I hope they are indicative of how I feel in the longer run.

The device is substantially faster than the original, and the biggest win based on that is no more plethora of keyboard lag leading to weird auto correction typos.

Hiccup here and there, but typos are now basically my fault. I typed twice in this post, both were my fault. On iPad one, it would have been every fifth word.

I'll add my pics here.

White 32db Wifi, Red smart cover...

Jealous, I was really hoping they would have red smart covers at the wal-mart that I got my 64gb white wifi, but no dice. I will just be happy that I got an iPad 2 less than 3 hours from my house in the model that I wanted for now, but I will be paranoid until I get an invisible shield and a smart cover on this thing!

Nice. Do you have a postal scale? I'm dying to know the weight. The weight is not listed anywhere at all that I can find. I've been searching since it was announced and still haven't been able to find out the weight.

First impression--there are three spots around the edge of the screen where the light is bleeding through against a dark background. Very unhappy about that.

P.s. So the microfiber matches the outside colour on all the covers? Very nice. I assumed they would all just be gray inside.

Anyone successfully moved their AT&T unlimited plan to their iPad 2?

I shutdown the iPad, popped the new unused SIMM out and popped the old SIMM into the new iPad2. I synced for the first time with my iMac. It is working, but I'm going to call ATT tomorrow and update my IMEI number. This is what ATT told me to do when I called last week before I sold my old iPad and got the new one today.

It does on the leather covers. The poly ones have a gray interior I believe.

I will admit, the smart cover looks nice. Anyone have a leather one? I'm curious on how that looks.

With the smart cover, is anyone worried about marking or scuffing up the back of the iPad 2? I'm really goofy about protecting the exterior. I like the look with the smart cover but worry about damage to the exterior.

What can I say, I am floored! Part of this is because I forwent the first gen and waited for this one. However, I am very happy! I also took these two pics for nostalgia, showing Apple's first true portable computer alongside it's newest portable device. The old guys will remember!

so now can you hold the iPad reading iBooks while laying on bed? because the weight is just only a bit lighter than the old one, and im curious. because i had trouble holding the original iPad with one hand while reading iBooks on my bed. it feels heavy and going to slip off from my hand to hit my head..
