I got a problem...

Yeah, people on here are sad about having too much iTunes content with 80GB. I have 2.5TB of data. Not all of it is itunes though, I use Handbrake to copy my purchased DVDs from the old days into itunes. :apple:

All right, who has the largest iTunes library?

I currently have 372GB...

Habitus :apple:

What's your compression? I've got close to 200GB with the vast majority at 128 AAC, but lately it's been a lot of 192-256 MP3s from emusic, amazon, and the like. I love iTunes, but I also like getting my music cheaply, which includes buying CDs and ripping when I can a get a better price on the disc than any DL service will offer.

Dang you folks deal in a lot of other media. I only have one video and about dozen podcasts and all of the rest is just music. I keep the rate low to get all of my collection on a classic, which still hasn't quite worked. I see a lot of folks going lossless which eats up a lot of space, even if the audio quality is superior.

Since I listen to most of my music during my morning commute and while driving, having the highest audio quality is pointless. There's too much road, car, bus, train, human, etc. noise to really enjoy hi-fi, but I can still listen to the music I love.

All music, and it doesn't include my "offline" collection of music that I'm less likely to listen to (classical, jazz, country, holiday, comedy, novelty, top xx compilations, billboard top 100, etc). Nor my 1.5TB of high-res & multichannel music (vinyl, DVD-A, SACD, etc.).

As for photos and video, I'm currently rebuilding my storage but let's say it involves a 5-bay 5x2TB NAS and a 4x2TB external RAID array.

Got a tb of just music if u include wav and aiff files(lots of vinyl rips that I can't bare to compress).

Compress them with ALAC -- it's lossless (you won't lose any quality) and you'll get metadata tagging.

477 MB of music. no movies or photos. :)

its weird to have a 160 gb ipod classic, and a 60gb hdd on my ibook. it seems like I have to load the ipod, delete, and then reload. I need an external hard drive :(

Or a new computer. That iBook is at least 5 years old, time for an upgrade I'd say.

Anyways back on topic. 450 GBs, 95% of which is uncompressed Apple Lossless music. Will I ever listen to half of it, no. Why do I have it? Torrenting is easy with Fios.

total library size is 768.63GB.
Broken down:
Music - 130.15GB
Movies - 204.09GB
TV Shows - 434.23GB
Books 171.5MB

I am still working on combining a bunch of has ass assembled libraries, so final total should be over 1TB. However I have tons of DVD-R with unconverted TV shows, so that will probably top off the 2TB drive my library currently resides on.

Because the library is so big and I have tons of stuff I have never listened to, I created a smart playlist called '100 songs not listened to'. It randomly pulls 100 songs with a 0 play-count. Helps keep my listening fresh and I discover songs I didn't even know I had or artists I didn't even know I liked.

1.5 Terabytes
3,664 albums
43,063 songs

Right now, this is on a hard drive in my MacPro. After I convert my DVDs (600+) to ATV format, I'll move everything to a OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 (6TB Raid 5).

Im at about 1 TB of Movies and Tv Shows. Not too hard to do when certain TV show series are almost 50-100 GBs.

Tracks for daaaaaays!

Back in 2000 I used to have over 3000 CDs then moved to Houston and decided to sell them all. But I ripped them first and I've been adding ever since.

Attached is my music only library screen cap...

I have only music in my iTunes music library with the exception of some music videos. Probably about 20 - 40 videos. Total tracks currently is:

145,399 - 482 days - 1,094.44 GB

Loads of cool tunes! I'm constantly buying music. It helps if you're in the music biz too as I receive 100ds of new albums sent to me a week!

Wow, nevermind, Hadn't seen this before... literally twice as much.. guess that's what the music biz does to you.

In order of Music (VBR), Movies (down-sized to 2GB mostly and a lot of short features), TV shows (1hr=1GB) and Books. In iTunes, but I have twice as much in extra drives. I also admit I have my brothers collection of Dance music on my machine and that's a good 100 albums itself.

People that have thousands,100,000s of songs always surprise me....how do you even know so much music...

I am most proud of my CS5

When the next round of Corporate Music conglomerates come looking for download pirates … I'm sending them YOUR way ;).

How do you manage this?
Any quid to having iTunes migrate library with permissions (1 iTunes account or more) to access the library & content to a outside Mac HDD used by different logons on various Macs? Legally?

Music - 1.5 TB - 42,767 songs (AAC lossless)

Movies - 4.5 TB - 770+ movies & shows (uncompressed in a RAID 5)

Nitpick...AAC is a lossy compression format. You probably mean ALAC in some type of mp4 container (like .m4a).

Also there is no such thing as uncompressed video, at least in any feasible format. (You can make ISO, VOB, Lagarith lossless AVI rips/copies of DVDs and do Blu-Ray remuxes, but chances are they're just really high bit-rate h.264 rips).
