Private browsing is a feature you can turn on when you don't want your family seeing what you are viewing online, like at christmas time when you want to get a nice christmas present and don't want anyone to see what you bought them. :D :D :D

so you can watch all the porn you want, but then when your mom or friend borrows your computer they wont see your recent sites. and you wont be embarrassed.

Safari keeps miniature screenshots of the pages you visit even in private mode.

Go to Finder>Library>Caches>com.apple.Safari>Webpage Previews and have a look.

My sneaky ex-girlfriend used to "visit" my mac when I was not home and I got embarrassed once.
However that was a year ago, maybe this has been corrected since (I don't feel like doing some testing now, since that day I've only been using Chrome's private mode...).

Is there a difference between using Safari vs. Chrome for this?
