Hey guys and girls just wondering how often you turn your iPad off? I've had mine on for a few days maybe a week now without turning it off does this harm the device or is it just the same as leaving your iPhone on?

Thanks for the replies...

Good thing you turned it off in a week or less. If left on for 8 days it will explode. :eek:This is covered in the printed manual that came with it.:D

It's not really a device that you need to turn off per-say. Sleep is good enough for it, since is so low power.

I almost never power down my iPad. Only time I ever do is to reboot but even that is few and far between.

I'd encourage weekly shutdowns. A Genius told observed that some errant backgrounding apps can be remedied with a reboot.

I don't really power down, but I usually reboot if an app I commonly use gets an update, or after installing a new app. There are some apps where the developers recommend rebooting after installing/updating... so I made that a habit.

I turn off my iPad at least 1 time a month, maybe 2. My iPhone on the other hand, maybe 6 times total in the 3 years I have owned it. (2G still running like a champ)
