Don't forget all the rumors concerning higher resolution displays (retina display).

^Lol.. Same here.. But I get the feeling that with all the iOS back to Mac stuff and all these gestures that they're slowly going to go in that direction with Mac OS.

Imac 2012 will feature:

Ivy Bridge CPU
Z68 onboard flash SSD
USB 3

Not sure about a redesign as the current in my view still looks so great.

Of course the usual - faster GPU and maybe faster 1600 MHz DDR 3 ram

To be honest the 2011 iMac is all I could wish for with 2 Thunderbolt ports, HD ICAM and faster GPU and sandy bridge i7 2600 3.4 ghz CPU :)

is Ivy bridge It's not missing Ivy Bridge, as it hasn't been released yet. You could argue that the current iMac is missing Haswell; but it's not, as it hasn't been released yet. and usb 3 Yes. You could buy an adapter - I am, however, unsure when / if they'll come out the only thing that the current imac missing ? Currently: Blu ray, HDMI etc. But, I have a TV for my PS3, and blu ray player; therefore, I don't need them, but it would be a nice option. (or is there a new technology that had beaan annouced for 2012) Better CPU's, better GPU's, light version of thunderbolt. Basically, like everything in the future: better, faster and more efficient.

does the target display mode support 1080p for ps3 gaming ? (2011 imacs) I think you'll need a scaler(?), but you probably do need a device "in-between" your PS3 and iMac; but, bare in mind, that it'll be 720p unless you go for a more expensive thing-ie, which scales it to 2560x1440. I don't think (AKA: I haven't tried this) that a HDMI -> mini-Display port (thunderbolt) will work.

The current iMac has pretty much all the current tech, bar USB 3.

If you go on about Ivy Bridge, you might as well talk about Haswell and Rockwell and then it just goes on and on...
