1. Which MacBook Air do you have?
13" 1,8, 4GB, 128GB

2. Is the Air your main computer? Do you use it along with an external monitor, another computer(s), iPad or ?
I use it as my main computer.
LG Flatron W2261V monitor
Also use an iPad (not as much as before I got the air)

When the new Led cinema display and mac mini comes out that combo will be my new main.

3. Use a sleeve, skin, speck case? What kind of bag or backpack have you found suitable for the Air's?
I've a sleeve made of memory foam for my trips to school :)

1. 13", 1.86GHz, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM

2. I have to say that iMac (24", 2.93GHz, 640GB HD, 4GB RAM, GT130) is still my main computer. I love my MBA but for some reason, I find myself sitting in front of my iMac more often. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to a big display and I often need more than a 13" screen for the stuff I do. I use my MBA mostly on my bed in the evening and on weekend mornings, and of course, when I'm somewhere else in the house or out of the house. I also have iPhone 3GS 16GB.

3. Some kind of InCase sleeve. It's not the one for MBA but for 13" MacBook (Pro) but I find that it is great for MBA too.

1. 13" Ultimate

2. Not main computer. Do not use with another monitor.

3. Zagg invisibleSHIELD (applied without any fluid). Incase Sleeve Plus. I carry the macbook around in a generic record bag.

Apart from the obvious scratch protection, the zagg shield adds some grip to the mac. The Incase sleeve fits really nice. Very easy to slip on and off.

Wow.

Why an iPhone for your music and videos instead of just getting an iPod Touch 4th Gen?

1. 2010 13" Ultimate.

2. Yes it's my only computer, just upgraded to it from a late 2009 Unibody Macbook. No external monitor either but I'm thinking about getting the 27" ACD if I can figure out how to connect a PS3 and cable box to it.

3. Just my old Incase sleeve from my previous Macbook.

I made an account because I had to ask:

For those of you with iMacs/Mac Pros...
What do you use/need the extra horsepower for?

I'm finding it quite nice to have a laptop as a primary. Everyone has different needs, so i'm curious.

Right now
1) Macbook Air 13inch (ultimate)
2)Primary machine --- first mac, came from a homebuilt gaming PC. Still works, but I rarely use it.
20inch External display - IPS. Probably how I can accept it at as a primary at home.

3) SF Bag's case.

Screen size is the biggest factor for most people I think. A 20"+ display is far more useful and comfortable than a 13" or 11" laptop screen for day to day use.

1) 11" Late 2010 64gb ssd 4gb ram 1.4 Ghz core 2 duo

2) I use the air as a secondary computer to my desktop, which gives more display real estate and power for cpu intensive tasks like video conversions.

3) No case, but I do use a neoprene sleeve designed for 12" laptops that I got years ago from the sony store. The only problem is because the air is so thin, the sleeve is still way too big :).

2) Not the only machine. In the past year I have made the switch to all Apple. Disposed of my last windows machine the other day. Main machine is 21" iMac. Also have original iPad and iPhone 4.

3) Will be ordering Urbano Ultra Slim Vintage case. Trying to find a coupon code :D

1. MacBook Air 11" Ultimate ($800 from Craigslist!!!)

2. It's not my main computer as I will be using it for traveling and for the weekends. My main computer is the MacBook Pro 13" which I currently have hooked up to an old HP w2207 22" screen and a 1TB external drive. I also take the Pro to the office since it can handle serious work much better (Parallels, DVD Decoding / Encoding, etc). I have the Pro setup as a server so I can access my iTunes, iPhoto Library, and other data anywhere in the world from the MacBook Air. I also have an iPad 2 WiFi that stays at home for reading and streaming media to watch in bed or around the house.

3. I use an STM Vertical bag to carry the Pro or the Air depending on which notebook I need to take out (Yes it can actually carry BOTH at the same time since the air is so thin!)

I have the base 11 air, I use it 75% of the time as my main computer these days.

I also have a 4 year old Mesh desktop PC running Windows 7 which is used primarily for iTunes and as a server for my Logitech Squeezebox.

This air is actually my first mac, and i see me upgrading in 2012 to an 'ultimate' of whatever 2012 brings!

Just got a MBA 11.6 1.6/4GB/128GB with the super drive and a iomega 1TB external HD last week. Am loving it so far.

Also have ipad, nano, droid x, kindle and a PC that I use for the web email etc. Mainly I want to use my MBA for my genealogy, itunes.

I have a plastic cover for now and just got a Brenthaven bag that was made exclusively for Apple several years ago for a 12 inch laptop. It fits my MBA, ipad and kindle along with other stuff. Will be using it for traveling.

2. Nope. I have an i3 21.5" iMac and an iPad 1. Also have a 15 inch MBP w/256gb SSD, but giving that one to the wife.
3.I'm shoving it in my iPad sleeve currently... it's a really tight fit though. It was originally for a 10' Netbook but fit the iPad.

11" ultimate

it's my only work computer, so all email / word / ppt / excel is on this. I have an external display I use sometimes but generally just use the screen. I have an ipad for play and a macbook pro for photoshop (more play).

no, dont use a sleeve, it goes straight into my briefcase. Did the same with my MBP and it was fine for 2 years, figured this would be the same.
