Per MacStories, Apple has released a new Mac OS X Lion Developer Preview 3 to its developers this evening as well as Xcode 4.1 Developer Preview 5. Apple last updated Lion for developers in late April. That version contained several UI changes presumably based on feedback from developers.

Apple is expected to discuss lion at WWDC which takes place in early June. Apple has targeted Mac OS X Lion for a summer release. No word yet on what's new in this build of Lion.

Sweet! Now someone post screenshots and a change log.

I'm most interested in how the interface changes are progressing!

The last version of XCode gave me nothing but headache with the app signings I hope this time things are different...

I know what you mean...It was having to piddle about with build types that annoyed me. It seems they tried to tidy up with XCode 4 but TBH it just made it worse to develop with. I've ended up moving to Coda and Eclipse - cant stand how damn slow Xcode has gotten (and its not like I'm on a slow mac either).

Are those about this mac tweaks new? It says "Lion," (10.6 just says Mac OS X) and it lists how many software updates you have.

I actually think XCode 4 is much faster than 3 was (The 4.0.2 build). I can't say much about the app signing I always have trouble with that.

From MacStories:

Update: We’re hearing the first changes in Lion DP 3 include a new boot animation, new graphical elements in the Finder’s toolbar, new desktop wallpapers and the Reading List, now enabled in Safari.

Looking forward to the screenshots of these!

Top the misery of many...

Thanks.

From the article:

New changes in Mission Control: can add “desktops” right from Mission Control by clicking “+” button, close spaces from Mission Control, Mission Control no longer displaying text “Desktop 1″ etc., when hovering over desktop thumbnails, magnification of thumbnails are seen

Awesome.

Hmm, I have nothing listed in my developer site about it being DP3. What makes it DP3 and not just an update? There have been 2 other updates so far.

I know it's a small change, but I am loving these new wallpapers :) I'm using the lake one right now
