Currently 628.66 Gb

That includes movies, podcasts, music and TV shows.

I am a daily user of my :apple:TV box and stream lots of stuff to my HDTV inc podcasts and music swell as movies.

Stored on a 1TB drive that may soon need upgrading.

Everything backed up on a 4TB Drobo to ensure I don't lose my stuff

Here's my current count for video content, music is only about 13,000.

Movies - 1845 - All converted with custom AppleTV setting using Handbrake 0.9.5, Meta-tagged using Vidalin and most recently Subler (Great App!). I currently use RipIt to copy disc and then que up Handbrake on my MacPro. (I get great encode speeds this way, average 135+ fps)
TV Shows - 834 Episodes of 61 different shows.
(BTW - All content came from my personal DVD library + another 200 from family members)

I have my iTunes library spread across (2) 2TB drives internally and backed up to (2) 2TB GTech drives. I am currently streaming to 5 AppleTVs on my home network (the max that Apple allows on the same Home Sharing setup)

Apologies, but if you go through the previous pages you'll find people with more music than everything you have combined ;)

Music - 18.08GB
TV Programmes - 8.68GB
Total - 26.76GB

A small but evergrowing collection! All the TV programmes have been purchased from the iTunes Store as I've never really been able to have much success with handbrake.

I'm guessing those of you with huge collections would never ever consider subscription music, right? Like having access to 10 million songs? no?

I may have one of the biggest average song size, 1000 songs totaling 10GB. Not too much is actual music mostly radio dramas. So with all these people who have a million songs, how many are legit?

Can I ask you all what you stream to? An Apple TV?

It's just I'm busy getting it all organised at moment and have an iMac, Apple TV 1. The problem/question I'm asking is regarding streaming the iTunes library to the Apple TV.

So do you all leave your external disks/NAS constantly on with an iMac etc? My problem is not letting my iMac sleep otherwise my Apple TV won't wake it.

I've considered buying an Airport Extreme router to see if this works. I dont really want to leave the iMac running all day without sleep.

Would be grateful for your solutions, what you all do currently
Cheers

All music no videos... Quality ranges from 192Kbps to Lossless. This is one of two libraries I run there are no duplicates between both libraries - All up around 220,000 tracks been collecting solidly for 2 decades - digitising the library was a bitch, all done now with original scanned artwork.

Yeah right ....

Got 1TB music and 2TB Video (DVD)

Is just a matter of compression (got lossless audio and 1:1 ripz of DVD's)

If I were to include all my music (which I don't do because it's broken into sub-categories I don't want in my main library, such as hi-res, holiday music, classical & jazz, comedy, sound effects, etc.):

Music:
2.46 TB
93,987 songs

Photos:
70.4 GB
51,515 photos

As for videos it's hard to say because I'm ripping my DVDs and Blu-Rays and then I have to merge with my existing video collection, but let's just say I am putting together a 15TB 5 disk array and it will be close.

1.3TB

50GB of music, the rest is movies and TV Shows.

I've attached a 2TB drive to my ATV1 so i've got the whole lot at the press of a button with no streaming.
Also acts as a backup of sorts, although i have a 3TB TM drive for backups.
