Method 1: (if you want to allow iTunes to organize your music collection)
1. Open iTunes and go to Preferences/Advanced
2. Check both "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding."
3. Drag your music files from the external hard drive directly into iTunes window (you can add them separately or all at once).

Method 2: (if you want to organize your music collection yourself)
1. Open iTunes and go to Preferences/Advanced
2. Uncheck both "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding."
3. Copy all files and folders with your music files to the "music" folder[Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Music]
4. Drag the music files you've just copied to the Music folder directly into iTunes window (you can add them separately or all at once).

Thanks.
Using Method #1, does it actually copy the music to the computer, or does it just make a shortcut?
