It's really weird hearing about all this snow/ice etc. I got sunburnt today! :p

Thankfully, we don't really get snow down here. :) Who needs snow, when we've got beaches! :D

Amazing .... any idea where this is?

Yeah, definitely. Where's this from? I'm guessing a European coastal town, but that's pretty vague.... then again, it is the World-Wide Web.

"These pictures were taken in the city of Constanta (at the Black Sea), in Romania, last week."

That's what came in the email with the pics.

That would be Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Looks like it's not so much freezing rain as ice from the waves being blown onto stuff near the shoreline.

Anyone seen pictures of Ice Tower in Fairbanks, Alaska? Here's the link. Make sure you visit Page 3 to see how big it gets! It's a man-made ice tower!

EDIT: E, I was referring to the "glacegeneve" pictures linked by someone else in the thread. I think they must be two separate sets of photos.

lake Léman where gusts of wind are announced with 110 km/h.... I let
you to guess the temperature.

Attention, certain images can shock the people sensitive to the cold!

That's a ton of ice. Holy crap! I am assuming that's not from waves so much, but rather from mist blown off the lake. Could you imagine coming out to go to work and finding that?

I hope it's not Romania... otherwise I'm never going to Romania in the winter... I'll only go back in the summer... but I think it's not as some other posters seem to have described.

Those pictures are awesome. It must be coming from the ocean that causes the dirty look. We had ice storms in Nebraska often. Nothing so beautiful is seeing sunlight against ice on trees, bushes, and cars. Although the car is not fun if a person is unfortunate enough to not have a garage.
