How would the CPU and GPUs power compare, between a 13" 2011 Air and a 2010 13" Core 2 Duo MBP? The Pro was my last computer and I'm thinking of getting an Air. If the processor is as decent as the Pro I'd be pretty happy. Anyone know for sure?

2011 13" i5 MBA vs. 2010 13" C2D MBP?

Was that sarcasm? Wasn't it all over the internets that the 2011 i5 air beat the 2010 pro in performance yesterday?
Truthfully, what are you using the computer for? If its fairly non intensive stuff, you probably won't tell the difference if you stick in a decent data ii ssd in the pro.

CPU: If you go by Geekbench scores, the 1.7GHz i5 in the Air at 5860 beats pretty much any MacBook Pro ever made before 2010, and hangs in the same territory as the top of the line i7s found in the 15 (5910) and 17 (5837) inch MBPs before the Thunderbolt refresh ...which just about hang in the same territory as the entry level 2.3GHz i5 13 inch MBP introduced this year in that Thunderbolt refresh (5917)....
So in other words, with the 1.7GHz core i5 found in the Air, you basically have an equally powerful machine as the top of the line MBPs from 2010, as well as the entry level 13 inch MBP introduced this year.
GPU: It's Intel HD3000....and there's not much to say about that. It is indeed a step backward if you need graphical power. For HD movies, etc...it's fine.
So in other words, with the 1.7GHz core i5 found in the Air, you basically have an equally powerful machine as the top of the line MBPs from 2010, as well as the entry level 13 inch MBP introduced this year.

Again, it depends on the OP's uses. If it's general lightweight consumer stuff, it would make as much sense as buying a ferrari to make your weekly two block drive over to the grocery store down 25mph residential streets.
