guys…I have problem here with Quicktime X (501) on Lion…it doesn't play .mov file…even on my iTunes too…here's the screenshoot…

.mov is the default movie format for quicktime…is it Lion's bug??or something else??does anyone encountered same problem??it sucks…cz I can't play music videos on my iTunes(a lot of them are .mov)…and it will be a hard work to convert to .mp4 file…I got perian installed…

anyone please with solution in reply!!!???

QuickTime works just fine with all formats on Lion for me. So it's definitely not a Lion issue.

btw…it's fine to play the movie on Quicktime player 7…failed on vlc…it just happen after upgrading to Lion…

oh ya…it also plays well on mini player on columns view…

Also Can't play .mov in Lion

I, too, can't play .mov files in QT 10 since upgrading to Lion. They open in QT 7 fine though. I haven't investigated the cause yet, just chiming in a "me too".

I couldn't play an M4V I ripped myself. It played fine on Snow Leopard in QuickTime X, and VLC plays it fine even on Lion. QuickTime X in Lion just doesn't play it. It plays everything else I tried though.

my *.mov file is created with previous version of QT (snow leopard)…

so…there aren't any solutions yet???
