It works well, and is implemented well......

You can set the resolution on the external display to anything supported
You can set the position of the external screen relative to the PB screen, so when you move the mouse from one to the other it moves as expected.
The PB apparently remembers the external screen settings for different monitors you've set up, so when you plug one in it's good to go.
In the setup screen you can drag the menu bar from one screen to the other, so it's on whichever screen you want it
