Question for dual TB monitor owners with MBP:

Do the USB / FW800 ports on the monitor support bus power?
The TB monitor has 3 ports + 1 FW800, I have devices like bus powered portal HDDs, TV tuner, USB thumb drives etc.

Will TB monitor support the power requirements of 6 bus powered USB and 2 bus powered FW800 devices (assuming you have 2 monitors)?

From the Apple Website...

Built-in Universal MagSafe cable (up to 85W)
Three powered USB 2.0 ports
FireWire 800 port

Since each monitor has its own power supply, the USB and Firewire ports should be bus powered.

Cool, that makes sense.

I have a NEC monitor with 3 usb "extension" ports which are not powered by the monitor power supply (e.g. cannot connect portal HDD + memory stick).

Thunderbolt + Mac Mini = neat and awesome setup!

Just wondering though, how does the Thunderbolt display perform comparing to iMac 27 in terms of picture quality?

I'm using my TB display with a 1.8 ghz 13" MBA with these devices plugged in;
FW800 HD
2 USB hard drives, daisy chained to each other,
Gigabit ethernet
Creative Labs USB external sound card to external speakers.
iPad/iPhone USB cable
Facetime HD camera

That and the monitor video feed all over one thin TB cable.
Plus of course power from the monitor to MBA.
So only two cables plugged into my Air instead of four.

I eliminated a mess of cables, USB hub, and five power cables from my setup. Even though I have other Macs with more procs and memory I prefer my Air for most things.
Well worth the money and a pretty great setup.

Going to buy an external monitor for my new MacBook. Would you guys highly recommend this one? I honestly can't find anything else comparable that I'd like. The UltraSharp doesn't seem like its as good and aesthetically it isnt anywhere near as nice.

Is the glare obnoxious?

I love how an X appears when you use a flash on apple displays.

Thinking about getting a thunderbolt display for use with the MacMini in the dining room (which is currently connected via hdmi to the tv).
Since the thunderbolt cable is 2 meters long, am I correct that the only way to extend it would be by putting another thunderbolt device (like the LaCie Little Big Disk) between the MacMini and display?
