In addition to today's seeding of the iOS 5 golden master version for developers and several associated releases, Apple also seeded the golden master 11C73 build of OS X 10.7.2 on the Mac side of the developer community.

OS X 10.7.2 includes the required components for iCloud, which will be going live to the public on October 12th alongside iOS 5. The release will also include a number of other fixes and enhancements and will bring Safari to version 5.1.1.

OS X 10.7.2 should be released to the public as we approach the iCloud launch.

I may be alone here, but as a non-developer, this is my favorite Apple news of the day.

Anyone else having the issue of "Guest User" showing up in the login window, even though Guest User is disabled in the "Users & Groups" settings?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Do you have Find My Mac enabled? I heard that that might show the guest account.

Actually this is a welcome change. Apple never used to designate GM for point updates so developers could never know if the latest seed was the GM or not. I hope they keep this tradition.

Anyone have the sha1 or md5 hashes for both downloads handy from apple?

EDIT: I've found them for the installer file in the combo update, if anyone else has them would you please double check as soon as possible:

Hasn't messed up mine, I done the Combo Update.

Massive improvement in performance, no more stuttering video and juddery scrolling in Safari when waking from sleep. Whole system feels far more optimised. iCloud working a treat too.

This is the news I actually wanted to hear. (Been sick of iPhone talk for 6 months already).

I'm hoping this update will make my system useable. It's painful using Lion (freezes, crashes, poofs, delays). And if not, I'm going back to SL.

(And yes, I'm at the bottom of the system requirements, but am shocked at how awful Lion runs and my iMac is only 3 years old.)

Good that it is getting close; I kind of wish they had put the cloud stuff in 10.7.3 so we could have had more fixes in the meantime.

Reckon I'll get the new version off the MAS when it goes up there, and then do another clean install, give Lion another chance. I heard they might have fixed nested sorting in Dock Stacks, which they broke in SL ... that would be a happy ending to a long wait, but if we still can't globally disable resume, autosave, versions and resize anywhere, it's going to remain a REAL tough sell for the OS overall.
