Now the true question is whether to upgrade from 4.3.3 JB on iPad 2 to 5.0 non-JB on iOS 5.

OTA update

on the beta's it said "software up to date" in the software update section. now it says "error occurred" does this mean that OTA updates have been disabled for the first version of the public release? or is this a GM problem?

Just started the download of iOS5. did take a couple of clicks before it started. The download is slow though is i guess it will be a while before it is finished. Time did start going up which is a little worrying. lol

GM has always said that.

Different build number (added "v") in the final version of iOS 5 as opposed to GM. I assumed he has already installed the final version, which I think is correct, judging by the other replies in this thread.

Only the AppleTV version has a 'v'. The other files all say 9A334, which was the GM seed build released last week.

All, sorry for the confusion.

The AppleTV build was (9A334v).

All other iOS devices are (9A334), same as GM.

Great! My iPhone has been connected for hours now, just waiting to download.

I really hope iOS 5 works OK with my 3GS :)

BTW anybody running GM find that if you try to run software update on the phone that it gives an error message.[/QUOTE]

Yea ran into that same situation. I hit the restore button on iTunes for my iPad. It makes it download the official iOS 5. Then I'll just restore from my backup. My guess is that it may just be a licensing issue between GM and public or Apple has not enabled their servers to push information about OTA updates yet.
