My iPhone 4's home button doesn't always work when pressed and may take a few presses to register. Also a single press may bring up the multitasking bar as if registering a double press.

The phone was bought at release last year so I guess it's out of warranty. Is it worth taking it to an apple store?

Mine had same issues and after the update to IOS5 I seem to have no more issues.

I brought it in to Apple store last week and gave me a new phone. They tested it and found a problem with hardware button.

I'm also having this problem with my iPhone 4, which is out of warranty. I have a genius bar appointment for this weekend, so hopefully they can fix it relatively cheap, or even free.
