aight
just got the iPod shuffle

fresh outta the box...etc

today- played some songs on it...etc
all's well
Go to Sync it on the machine

and find out that
nothing get's 'logged'

ie- it doesn't show up in my itunes as having played any of the songs

what'd i do?
or rather - what didn't i do

big reason i ask this is b/c i use AudioScrobbler
and i wanna keep a log of my played songs...etc

also i wanna keep a long of them on my computer - ie in Itunes

any ideas?

for those who care
i'm using a 12" Pb Rev C most up to date iTunes...etc
10.3...etc- all up to date
1Gb Shuffle

any clues?

good call

read that site u posted
makes sense

thanks for the direction
as i looked closer- it was updating the count, just not the time-

thus Audio-Scrobber doesn't pick it up
and itunes 'recently played' doesn't pick up on it either...

maybe time to return and buy a mini.

macosxhints.com posted an AppleScript that will update the last played date when you sync it up. I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet. Could be way to keep it updated.

I'd like to ask an innocent question: Why do you need to know the time a track was played?

Just curious.
