Screen rotates if I am in Safari, Mail, and other apps , but if I am texting it won't rotate to landscape. What in the world is causing this? I already checked and screen is not locked in portrait mode.

I was just reading another forum and someone said that they ended up closing all of their open apps and the screen went back to rotating. So I did that, and now the screen rotates. I have never had to do that before so I'm curious about why that fixed it.
