Hi, this is a short and stupid question, but how do you enable the HD icon on the desktop to show both the free and total space of the drive? Right now all I have is the total size of the hard drive, but I swear before I had both the free space as well as the total space of the HD. Thanks!

The "Show Item Info" is checked, yet all I see is the total space of the drive, not the free space. I tried toggling that option off and on again, but to no avail.

I was just about to ask this question too. My free space seems to have disappeared, and only total space is shown now.

Thats odd. I am using 10.4.10 and after I checked the option I see first the total space, then free space. Please describe 'before'.

Are you using administrator accounts? It doesn't work for some reason with non-admin accounts (longstanding issue).

If you need to monitor several drives, or want something faster than doing a Get-Info on each drive, use iStat Pro. You can set it to monitor just what you want.

I just did a clean install and under my HDD I can see "219 GB...GB free" how can I get so I can see full text or just how much is free instead of capacity and then how much free space I have?
