I take a decent amount of pics and video but I just went in and got rid of all of my videos over 30 secs and some pics that I didn't want anymore...My music library doesn't contribute to my 5gb space limit right? I have Match as well but can't figure out what is leaving me with only 1gb free space in iCloud....I have 3235 songs, 26 videos, 335 photos and 87 apps with 14.5 gb avail on my 32gb 4S.

What should I be checking? Thanks.

Usually it's the camera roll. The best solution is to start out clean. Move all pics and videos from camera roll to your pc. Clear out iCloud using the iCloud control panel. When you resync that should help.

You can view the amount of space each thing takes up.

I know and wouldn't have posted the question if viewing that helped me out. Thanks.

Thanks. I know I can use Image Capture to take my pics off of my iPhone but can I used that same method (reversed) to put them back on my device if I wish?

If I recall correctly, music that wasn't matched and was simply uploaded would be counted against your limit. Do you have a significant number of unmatched songs in your library?

Not the iCloud storage limit! It doesn't do music, at all.

If you want the pics back on the phone you can use iTunes to sync them back to the phone into another folder. You can't and don't want them back in camera roll as that would just create the same problem.

3287 of 3313 songs are available in Match...is that what you mean?

I know what you mean, but according to the Apple website it stores it in there too:
http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/apps-books-backup.html

Your point does makes sense however since I do have a lot of space available of my 25GB and I have hundreds of purchased songs, apps.

Helpful site: http://news.cnet.com/8301-27076_3-20090887-248/how-much-icloud-storage-will-you-need/

It stores the fact that you have a match account and it stores purchased music from iTunes, but doesn't count it against your storage limit.

I have a lot of obscure music in mine and had to upload a lot, several GBs worth and my iCloud backup is nowhere near that size. It's less than 2GBs between my iPad and phone.

it could be a backup from an app. you can see how much space each app takes up on iCloud in the iCloud settings on your iPhone.

iMessages counts. I know this is an old thread, but for anyone else searching, check iMessages. Mine was over 4gb.

I found that I had a backup of my previous phone and a backup of my current phone. I also had a small backup of my iPad. I just deleted my old backup of my phone and that was enough.
