I'm curious.

As my internet i probably limiting me from testing it all the way, i only have 100Mbit down and 10Mbit up at home, when i try it on the 4S, i get 25Mbit down and 10-11Mbit up, while the upload is what i get on the laptop the download speed is 1/4th of the speed available..

So it seems if the 4/4S is limited to around 25Mbit/s (megabits not megabytes per second) down, but what about up speed?

I would also love to see if anyone got over 25Mbit/s.. Something tells me it should be possible to reach at least 60Mbit/s like i do on the macbook wirelessly.

Thanks for the reply :)

Ah.. that's a big difference imho, 34Mbit vs 27Mbit which i got now using the same test as you. You'd think you should get similar speeds, but umm, i guess it could be a server issue too..

Hope some more people can get in here and show some results (hopefully better than the ones we have) :)

Only?!

Seriously, how do you get by?

I apologise, but as somebody who remembers playing Unreal Tournament over a 28k connection back in the day, a 100MB connection seems insane to me!

You would hate my 200 Mbps / 10 Mbps which will be upgraded to 300 Mbps / 20 Mbps after the new year.

Haha so much hate!

I honestly thought my 14MB connection was really good.

I can stream HD content so musn't grumble.... but dam!

I was so excited when my parents upgraded to 56k, I was like WOW, this is awesome.

I had the same thought when I read this post earlier, ONLY 100Mb

Hehe, nowadays it seems like most people over here in Sweden have 100mbit both directions or even 200mbit..

Back in 28k days I remember that I had 10mbit cable and that was blazing fast back then, so I guess I've gotten used to fast Internet connection!

What on earth could you be wanting to do on your phone that would need 25Mb/s? You'd fill the phone off iCloud in seconds with that.

I get 5Mb/s on 3G on my 3GS and it does everything I need pretty much instantly.

Fill the phone off iCloud? What are you talking about? The speed would be for browsing the web, connecting to services, etc... Not sure if you understand what the OP means.

I think you misunderstood this thread :) I am not wanting more speed, i am simply curious on what the max speed the wifi is capable off on the 4 and 4S.

But if we're gonna talk about 5Mb/s vs 25Mb/s it's a big difference imho :)
If it feels better i only get like 1Mb/s on 3G, so the fast connection stays at home...

Exactly, the faster the better, it's usually always the case :)

Right, but if you bought the songs, aren't they on your phone already? Second, he didn't mention anything about iCloud. Just that he was wondering what Internet speeds on the 4/4S were. Anywhooooooo.... Whatever......

+1
Thanks :)

EDIT: What is blazing fast for someone is barely fast for another one.. It's subjective and will always be different among people depending on what internet connection experience one has. If you are comparing vs an old 56k modem then anything over 1Mbit is really fast!

I've seen as high as 30.13Mbps upload on a campus network via speedtest.net app on my 4S.

The image is from my iP4S on a 40\10Mbps connection! I've seen 36\10 with this phone ..and that's slightly faster than I've seen from my Laptop wired or wireless, which usually hits around 35\7. My previous iP4 topped out at around 19Mbps via the same Bb connection.

Edit: found my best. ;)

Thanks guys!

Just did another test, 21Mbit down and 12.5Mbit up.. Strange that i cannot for the life of me get anything past 27Mbit down even though 36Mbit seems to be no problem at all, i mean 10Mbit difference is huge. Not that i really care, but shouldn't all max out at the same speed if a fast enough connection is available?

I hear yah.. just did a speedtest on my iMac, hardwired and got 41Mbps, then ran the test on my 4s and got 1Mbps.
