Even if it's 100 off. Hopefully.

Does anyone know if they had sale last year at Christmas for apple laptop?

The reason I am asking is if they do I want to trade in my MacBook which they Are offering 566$.

Typically right after Xmas there will be some products trying to get cleared out BestBuy is not in great shape right now and really cannot afford to hold onto too much inventory.

watch the open box offerings at the Best Buy stores within driving distance of you, there are frequently deals to be had.

You can check out various authorized dealers on the web for lower prices and see if they'll price match. I've had excellent luck dealing with my local best buy.

Not a bad idea.. thank you... My plan is bit complicated however since I will need for best buy to take my 2009 mb for good price before I can turn around and buy mba from them :)

But thanks for the suggestion.

I was at Best Buy this morning. The 11" air is on sale for $60 off. Don't know how long it lasts, nor did I notice what the sale price on the 13" was.

Good luck!

I paid 939 for my MBA 11 that was 2 weeks ago, I traded it back in and got the 13" MBA for 1234, which is what BB is offering it for right now, the Apple store matched the price.

neither of those are really sales since amazon has them at that price all day long. For reference my 2011 base 13" air was 900. I'd aim for 1000 or lower in that config to be considered a deal especially since they were going at 1099 new during BF.

I will take anything 1099 or lower anyday..

I should have gotten it during BF from best buy.

The trick is for me to turn in 2009 MB for best buy gift card so that I can put that towards new mba. I really hope they knock off the price again near $1099(that was most excellent price).

Cannot wait.. but if this does not happen, I will wait for next mba.

Yeah I'm really hoping there are some good after-Christmas air sales, but who knows... they should be generally going down in price as time goes on, as they are now mid-product cycle.

It's been on sale pretty much since it has been out...

Stop waiting or you're never going to buy...

well.. i wish it was that simple.. I really cannot buy more stuff as wife won't allow it.. (bought iPhone 4s and iMac 27 this year... along w/ iPad 2 :) AND apple tv 2

So.. my plan is to sell:

mb 2009 --> best buy offering $566
couple old pc laptop --> $150

That's $716 already.. so if price drops to $1099, all i have to come up w/ is $400 and change.. so.. hopefully I can have wife just let me get it.. :)

Or you could just privately sell your 2009, probably get at least 700 if not more for it and then sell your other computer for 150, and buy it from any one of the many online stores for 1240 or so making your difference the $400 you want to pay...

But then again, maybe it would just be better to wait for Ivy Bridge since you already loaded up this year....

Really? You don't think you can get 700 for a 2009 Macbook? Why do you think Best Buy is willing to give you $566? They aren't doing it out of the kindness of their heart. They know they can sell it for at least another $100. Around here 2009 MB go for around 700 on craigslist all the time..... I personally wouldn't pay it, but people do all the time.

MBA deals at BestBuy

Earlier this month I got an open-box 13" MBA 128gb SSD for 10% off their sale price of $1239. I also had $20 in gift cards, so the price with tax was $1146.
Not too shabby! By the way, Apple changed to date of purchase to MY purchase date upon receiving of a copy of my register receipt.
Best laptop I have ever owned.

I think $566 is more than a generous offer. You're talking about at least a 2 year old MB. I could barely get $750 for my 2009 MBP 6 months ago, perfect condition.

Yes it is. I paid $800 at microcenter back in 2009....

I do not like best buy but $566 is crazy money any retail place is going to pay and that's why I am waiting for sale at bestbuy.
