does this require a new iOS installation or does it just slide in? I'm on the latest JB at present and don't really want to lose it yet...

On the apple tv? It just appeared on mine after relaunching the apple tv.

I wonder how the streaming catalogue compares to the US one. In the US, for example, is it possible to stream James
Bond movies or "the hangover"? Can't find them in the UK.

Does anyone have it working on their iPhone? It works a treat on my iPad and AppleTV, but the iPhone refuses to accept my (correct!) password. I've seen several other people reporting the same problem.

No waynim signing up for this until new releases start being streamed.

In the selection tab is that "all" the films or do more come available when you sign up??

There is A LOT more than is shown on the page before you sign up. I'd recommend going for the free trial and having a look.

There don't appear to be many very new releases, but I reckon they'll be added fairly quickly.

Maybe you need to log out of your Facebook session. I started an account using email in Safari - and I've just tried Firefox now:

Yeah, firefox shows that - that probably makes Safari a non-prefered browser for netflix then.
Signed up for the 30 day, no harm in doing that I guess, especially on a creditcard that expires at the end of the month :)

It also requires Silverlight to playback on a mac.
On a 30mb/s link (Virgin Media), wired to desktop (mac mini)
Initial playback (Ghost in The Shell: Solid State Society), seemed a little glitchly, but I presume it's needing to workout the best solution.

I also installed the iOS app onto my iphone 3gs. Logged in, and checked out an episode of Doctor Who (Series 1, Dalek) - pity it does not go back to Tom Baker - works better on 3gs than desktop.

Going to give it the trial period, find things I've not seen before going the whole hog.

Does anyone know how this is on multiple computers?
Is it actually unlimited streaming?

Yes, the resume worked for me.

Yes, you need to log out of Facebook before the option to signup using email appears.

Netflix have confirmed this on their Twitter account. Bloody stupid design.

Well, to be fair they want you to log in using Facebook - as they can then inject all the movie titles you watch into your timeline and get free advertising for themselves. If you read the terms and conditions, you actually agree to this - even if you sign up using email!

As far as I can see (as an email user) there's nothing so far that's forced me to unlock the Facebook functionality.

I looked at the first image and the first thing I did was to search for "Back to the Future" on the Netflix Canada website. Unfortunately that movie is not available to us.

Spaceballs is still not in the list. Iron Man 2 is listed but not the first one. Searching for "James Bond" only returned "Casino Royale", the other titles were not Bond movies at all.

I wonder how much Netflix is to blame, if it's a CRTC problem or the Canadian content providers who signed 25+ years contracts for some titles. :(

I'm in Ireland and I'll mainly be using it here but if I leave the country can I still use it on my Mac and and iOS devices?

I wasn't keen on that either. I clicked around and a small 'or sign up with email' link came up.

I therefore signed up by email (not Facebook) and even though the terms and conditions say that they want to put stuff on my Facebook wall, so far I haven't had to give them any Facebook access and it seems to work OK.

Great! I'll try that!

Disappointing selection of movies & TV shows - however Buckaroo Banzai is there so used that to try out. Working fine on MacBook Pro, iPhone & Apple TV2. Resume doesn't seem to work across devices. Apart from serious lack of interesting content it seems OK - a shiny but empty box.

What is the Netflix library like? Is there a great selection of content available?

Now I've had a chance to take a look around, the answer is a definite no!

The selection is pretty poor. There's a good few movies that I want to watch - and there lots of TV - but if you try searching for any recent popular movie you probably won't find it.

Ahhh ok. Thanks for that.

Am I mistaken that they do not mention this anywhere?

I'd imagine that Sky have an arrangement in place with the various studios to get movies for a selected period before anyone else.

Yes, but even not so recent popular stuff isn't there.

Bourne? no
Bond? no
Ironman? no
Pixar? no
Crank? no
Matrix? no
Star Wars? no
Lock Stock? no
Godfather? no
Shawshank? no
Batman / Dark Knight? no
Lord of the Rings? no

and so on.

Title says, launched in UK.

So why put up misleading US app images?

The App is the same. They haven't updated it since December.

Of course the screenshot (from the App Store) shows:

AT&T's carrier name
Two titles that aren't available in the UK (Back To The Future, The Godfather)

Other than that, it's functionally and cosmetically identical.
