What's my original iPad 1 worth resale? I want to upgrade to the newer iPad 3; however, I must sell the old one first.

It's the 64 GB WiFi model with the original box, etc. and has the OEM Apple folding-stand case. It's in mint condition, not a scratch or nick on it.

My guess is I should try for between $300-$400 on CraigsList.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Thanks,

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. Go on Ebay and see what they are going for on there. The market will be flooded with used iPads now so the price is only going to go down.

Just a guess, but I think you'd probably get around $250 for it, at the most. Consumer electronics devalue very quickly, especially when new models come out.

I've got a first-generation iPad (64GB / Wi-fi + 3G) in fair condition, and I think I'd be lucky to get $300 for it.

155$ on gazelle so I'm guessing at least $250 on Craigslist. Don't forget they just dropped the 2 price by $100 so I would say $250 is more than fair.

haha yeah right. As soon as people catch on that the ipad 2 can be bought used for $349 with a 1 year apple warranty and no worries about having a faulty device, people will probably not pay any higher than $300 for a used ipad 2 on craigslist and probably no higher than $200 for an original iPad.

16 GB. Majority of people do not care about storage space. Just the cost.

What he said. When it comes to buying a device, the most important thing is the device itself. Who cares if its a 1TB ipad if its an ipad 1 because thats what people will see.

Appe Sells them still

Thanks,

Apple still sells them but they are classified as refurbs since they are not available in the stores. Yesterday the price of the 64 gig model new was $399 with apple warranty. I would be safe to think you can get around $300 or more if it is not a smart person who checks apples web. Since all items on apples web that are in the refurb store are sold with the full as new warrenty with applecare options which you can not get with a used device sold on ebay or craigslist.
oi just looked apple increased the price of the refurb ipad 1st gen by $100 before yesterday there was only 64gig model for $399 now there is the 16 gig for 299, 32 gig for 399 and 64 for 499.

The best price right now, other than listing yourself on Ebay/Craigslist seems to be EBay Instant Cash, which is offering $280 for a pristine IPad 1 Wifi+3G with 64GB.

You have 7 days from the offer to ship it. Postmark within 7 days. You print a free shipping label.

I listed my iPad 1 64 GB (no 3G) for $350 on Craigslist this past weekend and did not get a single email. I sent it off to Amazon yesterday morning for $280 credit. (Like-new condition.) I'm hoping a third party seller will offer the new iPad sooner vs. later and I'll use that credit towards the new iPad.

Otherwise for Craigslist I would say $250 at max. Maybe a touch more if you get lucky.
