Alongside today's release of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2, Apple also seeded the first pre-release version of OS X 10.7.4 to developers for testing. The release arrives as Build 11E27.

Apple has reportedly asked developers to focus their testing efforts on Address Book, Graphics, iCal, Mail and Printing in the new build, which also contains one documented known issue related to playing purchased iTunes content through QuickTime.

A separate pre-release version of OS X Server 10.7.4 is also available.

GPU drivers seem to have been updated as animations seem a little smoother now. Its speedy too and *gasp* Opt+Shift+Brightness/Volume is back!!!

It breaks iStat Pro though.

Hope it fixes the MBA (2011) wifi bug where, in spite of various updates, half of the time the MBA won't connect to the Netgear repeater upon wakeup from sleep.
We have 2 MBA at home and the issue occurs with both - and not with iPhones, Windows PCs, Viera TV... It's getting me crazy!

I hope that it fixes the issue my issue of the sound input freezing when I switch inputs from headphones to speakers. I have to reboot coreaudio to start audio again.

Also I hope the general stability of applications is improved. A few apps that were perfectly fine under SL now crash quite often. I suspect that they haven't really refined Lion much on purpose so they can force people onto Mountain Lion, (although that only makes sense if it's not free).

I Only Hope....

You poor souls with the Lion bugs...I DO feel for you!! (Really)!!

I am lucky in that my mid 2011 iMac, now with Lion 10.7.3, runs like a Thoroughbred!!:D It has since 10.7.2! 10.7.3 made it even snappier!

NOW: MY HOPE IS THAT THEY GET THE INSTALLER RIGHT, AND NO MORE FIASCOS LIKE THE 10.7.3 MESS!

This time I am waiting a few weeks before I Update!:D

Can you find the driver version? OpenGL extension viewer shows it right when you launch it, or you can find it under system information-> software-> extensions.

What's really embarrassing is showing off my MBA to PC users, under Lion "instant on" is 9 seconds....

I hope this update fixes the Bug where some people post that they hope this update fixes a Bug without saying what the Bug is ;)

I do believe it is a form of "ant".

But seriously, I agree that it's ridiculous the amount of problems Lion still has. Fortunately, Mountain Lion fixes quite a few (performance-related, at least). Unfortunately, that isn't free.
