Will CorePlayer benefit from a faster GPU?

OK, dual 1.8GHz G5 here, currently got a Radeon 9600 XT and seriously considering an upgrade to a Radeon X800 XT.

Just downloaded CorePlayer for the first time, so far it seems to play 24mbit/sec 1080p content raw from my iPhone much better than everything else, though still not perfect - re-encoding at 8mbit/sec H264 1080p and going to see how that goes.

Anyway, I hear that CorePlayer uses GPU acceleration, therefore I was wondering if upgrading my GPU would help with 1080p playback. Any idea?

ADDED: OK, Coreplayer is playing 8mbit/sec H264 1080p at a full 30 FPS, no problems. Amazing! Certainly worth the $20. My original question still stands though.

Well, I just bought the card, a 256MB Radeon X800 XT, for $159. Should be here later this week. Even if it doesn't help, at least I'll have some more bragging rights/a longer e-penis

Will post some benchmarks when I get it, since there doesn't seem to be any on the internets for a slower-clocked G5 with a high end graphics card.
