As we previously reported, the complaints about warmth or heat seem to vary from customer to customer and may be dependent on the mix of apps that are being used.

There's a laughable over reaction to all of this. It's just a tiny bit of heat. I've used my iPad now for 4 or 5 hours straight. I played Fifa, Real Racer HD, mucked around with Garage Band, and there was a slight increase in temperature, but certainly not anything "too hot". Just mildly warm.

Hmm, maybe the Apple logo on the back isn't the correct size. Or, WAIT, there's a black bar on the back of the 4G iPads

I'm surprised it's that big of a deal. All last gen dualcore phones - iPhone 4S, Galaxy S2, SnapDragon phones, etc generated considerable amount of heat compared to the predecessors yet nobody really cared. Galaxy S2 especially had some notable criticism for its high heat but nobody seemed to care outside Korea and even in Korea it didn't stop that phone becoming a best seller.
A temperature of 33.6° C (or 92.5° F) is not hot... I really don't know how this can be a complaint!
I haven't noticed mine get particularly hot at all. Maybe it's because it's a WiFi one rather than 4G?
While the temperature difference isn't much, it unfortunately crosses the only threshold that matters, and that is the temp of the iPad relative to the skin's surface temp. What this means is that the old iPads feel cool to the touch, but the new one feels warm. Regardless of the actual degress, that's a big difference, and for me and some others, a big deal.
It only warms up if you turn the display brightness to max. I keep it around 50% and its just as cool as my iPad and iPad 2.
I can't say I'm surprised that it gets hotter than the iPad 2, it's got double the size battery as the iPad 2 so more power = more heat! At least it should be as bad as my Optimus Slider when it doesn't have service and becomes a pocket warmer...
